I turned the settings to medium and it ran fine after that. My PC is totally capable of running it on on the fullest settings, but it randomly stutters then eventually crashes. Lolpingu what kind of hardware do you have the game running on? Also is there an error message when it crashes? If i ain't gonna get my answers here i will become a SAD. I don't know what to do:'( from the little time i got playing it i just loved it, all gore and cool and stuff. I tried changing it to windows mode i tried to make it run on one core in task manager and disabling multicore. Left 4 dead 2 crashes randomly when i play on single player (didn't try online, but will probably crash there too) i tried the CSC solution. For those having the problem I had go to Workshop>LFD2>Workshop>Subscribe and turn the subscription off it stop the auto update. It seems steam decided on it own to subscribe me to a bugged addon and since the workshop is set to auto update any addon you are subscribed to if the addon does not exist it cause the game to crash while reading the addon file toupdate the addon. So I finally figured out a fix for this took me awhile of searching since I knew the root of the problem was the update on the non existent addon.
